According to Him, there is no God besides Him. So, when Christ said that the Father is the only true God, means only the Father is God and there is no other God besides Him. Is there another God like Him? God said, there is none like Him:
9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, (Isaiah 46:9, ibid)
Now, it is already clear that the Father is the only true God and there is no God besides Him nor there will be like Him. Therefore, the teaching of most of the Christian sects today that Christ is also God like the Father is not true based on the Bible, and it also contradicts the truth revealed by the Bible.
However, there are some of these Christian sects believe that Christ is also the Father, and the Father and Christ is the same, or that Christ is the result when the Father became flesh. Is this true according to the truth written on the Bible? Is the Father the Christ Himself? Christ answers:
17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them,'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'" (John 20:17, ibid)
Christ Himself said, that the Father is His Father who is the Father of the members of His Church. The Father is His God who is the God of the members of His Church too. In other words, the teaching that the Father and Christ is the same and one, as in, Christ is the Father Himself or that Christ is the result when the Father became flesh, is a false doctrine or not Biblical.
But not only that. There are other Christian sects also believe that Christ is also God who exist on the Christian time only not in the old testament time. Is this teaching true based on the Bible? God Himself answer this question:
10 " You are My witnesses," says the LORD,
